Along the northern central highway, you will see large cold-climate savannah haciendas and small towns. After an hour on the road, the terrain becomes mountainous, offering a spectacular view.
142 kilometers from Bogota, we come upon Boyacá Bridge, now a national monument commemorating the decisive battle which took place on August 7, 1819 in Colombia's War for Independence. You will visit the monument and hear the history of the battle. After this point, we turn-off leading to Villa de Leyva, one of Colombia's most beautiful white towns, founded in 1572, national architectural monument and universal heritage of humanity according to Unesco.
